Safety Markers

Photo-luminescent Low location Lighting

In addition to the emergency lighting required by regulations II-1/42 and III/11.5, SOLAS Chapter II-2 3.2.5.1 requires that means of escape, including stairways and exits, shall be marked by lighting or photo-luminescent strip indicators placed not more than 300 mm above the deck at all points of the escape route, including angles and intersections. The marking must enable persons or passengers to identify the routes of escape and readily identify the escape exits.

To meet this standard the Bourne Group offers both a flexible photo-luminescent laminated film tape and a rigid strip low location lighting system that are both designed to absorb and store energy from ambient light, these strips are immediately visible in the event of a blackout. Both products affix easily to walls and along handrails to provide a pathway to exit in the event of an emergency.

Safety Grip Track

In the event of an emergency there is always the possibility of panic and the risk of serious injury due to slips and falls. To counter this, the Bourne Group offers a non-skid photo-luminescent tape that provides unsurpassed non-slip protection on hazardous surfaces. This safety grip track absorbs and stores energy from ambient light and is instantly visible in the event of darkness.
