Custom Signs
The Bourne Group now offers its customers the option to order a custom sign. Our recent move to Charleston South Carolina’s Old Naval Base and Shipyard has given the Bourne Group access to new and greater resources. Our on site graphic designers, carpenters and machinists have enhanced our ability to design and manufacture signs.
This new asset has proven to be a valuable service to our customers. We understand that not every ship is alike, and therefore it can be difficult to order safety signs out of catalogs. The sign may not fit in the space you wish to hang it or you might need something that is not in the standard catalog. Which is why we offer both, you can either search through our catalog or you can just tell us what you want and let us create it.
Testing
The Bourne Group offers its customers the service of testing and evaluating low location lighting systems on board vessels.
In accordance with SOLAS all Photoluminescent materials on board a vessel should provide at least 15mcd/m2 measured 10 min after the removal of all external illuminating sources. The system should continue to provide luminance values greater than 2mcd/m2 for 60 min.
Installation
We understand that when it comes to refurbishing or building a vessel you might not have the resources to hang each sign, which is why we offer our customers the choice of using our services for installation.
Yacht Management
The yachting industry has changed significantly in the last few years as the number and size of yachts has increased dramatically. The technical complexity of these yachts, the rules and regulations needed for their safe commercial operation, and the general level of sophistication of equipment have also grown as a result. Our experienced maritime safety team can provide the necessary support and expertise to ensure your yacht meets all ISPS, MCA, IMO and SOLAS rules as well as other certifications and classification requirements. Unlike many of our competitors we manufacture many of our safety products and have adopted a policy of close liaison with many regulatory authorities to ensure all our products and services meet current international legislation.
